If you would like to follow this route, the coast path from Lizard Point to Loe Bar is clearly marked. Once you reach the Bar, you should then follow the southern edge of Loe Pool – around Carminowe Creek, through Degibna Woods and on into Helston.

Dom and Ben made a few key detours, details of which are here, followed by a link to a map:

Polpeor Cove
We start the sound walk in the cove below and to the west of Lizard Point, which can be reached by descending the track to the old lifeboat station and on to beach. At low tide one can clamber over rocks westwards as far the old steps, cut into the rock, which climb up to join the coast path at Pistil Meadow. The steps have suffered damage in recent years and are officially closed, although it is still possible to climb up – at one’s own risk.

Kynance Gate
The detour to Kynance Gate prehistoric settlement has no signposting, although is marked on OS mapping simply as ‘Settlement’. From the car park, avoid dropping in to the cove and follow the inland route across the heathland. There is an obvious and well trodden opening on the right hand side at the top of the short climb out of the shallow valley that descends to the Cove. The settlement is about 100 yards on from the opening, the way passing through two small, well enclosed grazing fields.

The Horse
The Horse is an obvious rocky promontory just north of Rill point, and is marked on OS mapping.

Jolly Town
The cottages at Jolly Town are clearly marked on OS mapping at 1:25000 scale, just to the east of ‘Soap Rock’. The inland path across the Lizard National Nature Reserve is also obvious on OS mapping, and rejoins the coast path at Predannack

Please note:
There are buses from Helston to Lizard Village, and parking is available in the village square, or close to Lizard lighthouse.
