Artist Robin Dowell is looking for people to test drive a field trip to Tywarnhayle mine and the surrounding area. The purpose is to develop an enhanced understanding or reading of the area; a collaborative cultivation of deep topography through the consideration of historical, ecological and cultural perspectives. Discussion during the day and feedback from participants will contribute to the development of the field trip.

The proposed route is approximately 6.5 miles and the walk will take three to four hours. The terrain is varied and participants will need to be physically able, with suitable clothing and footwear. Participants should bring a packed lunch.

There are a limited number of places. If you are interested in participating please email Robin: [email protected]

This field trip is organised as part of Groundwork, a three-year project bringing outstanding art and artists to Cornwall, supported by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence scheme. Field trips, workshops and events during 2016 and 2017 are building towards a high-profile programme of commissions and sited work in 2018.
