Pigment painting, CAST-Off, August 2020

Draw a picture journey, paint a landscape postcard or visit Ben’s Den.

Topographical painter Imogen Bone will lead a session making landscape paintings on postcards – sending love from Cornwall to those who are unable to make it down here this year. Imogen is photographing as many of the postcards as possible to make into a short animation. Meet in the beautiful meadow by Carminowe Creek on the east side of the Loe. (If you don’t want to walk around the Loe, you can park by the Degibna Prayer Chapel and walk down to Carminowe. You’ll find a CAST-Off sign in the meadow.)

At Cober Camp Lucy Grant will be encouraging children to draw picture journeys in their CAST-Off sketchbooks. There will be feather quills, sepia ink, and watercolours to experiment with to describe your journey through the wild woods in continuous picture form! (You’ll find a sign to Cober Camp near the footbridge from Mill Lane).

Ben Sanderson is joined in his den by sculptor Amy Morgan this Tuesday and Saturday. They’ll have cardboard tubes for making temporary artworks in the woods (There are signs from Lowertown to bring you to the right spot.)

The CAST-Off programme is presented with the generous support of The Garcia Family Foundation, with assistance from Arts Council England, Cornwall Heritage Trust, Feast and Little Parc Owles Trust.
