CAST is contributing to the Bangers & Mash-Up festival, which will be held at United Downs Raceway, St Day, Redruth TR16 5HU on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October. Gates open at 12 noon every day and close at 11pm. Friday 15 October bands start at 4pm. Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 October bands start at 12 noon. Tickets are £5 per day.

Over the three days of the festival fashion designers/artists Harry Evans and Robert George Sanders will be constructing costumes and sculptures in their domed tent, using found materials to create a piece that will grow and change each day, with a live soundtrack of distorted found and incidental noises.

Harry has a background in womenswear and knitwear and has worked for brands Celine, Burberry, Acne, Charlotte Knowles, Ashish and Meadham Kirchhoff. Robert is an illustrator and florist with a background in menswear and has worked with Craig Green and set designer David Curtis Ring. Their work has featured in Vogue and iD and is part of a developing documentary with Clare Richards direction.

TRANFORMATION STATION

On Saturday and Sunday afternoon members of the team responsible for this summer’s CAST-Off programme will host ‘Transformation Station’, offering free creative making sessions for children and young people. Join them to sculpt with towers of tubes, swags of brown paper, wax paper toile, tapering tissue and ruffled crepe and create fabulous festival headdresses, adornments and accessories.

Students from Falmouth University will assist with both aspects of the project.
