In August CAST hosted a memory day in the Church Hall in St Keverne. Azook brought their oral history trailer to St Keverne and commissioned broadcaster David George to conduct oral history interviews with former pupils and teachers while Azook made scans of photographs, school reports and other documents connected with school life. These audio interviews and images will form part of a Helston County Secondary School collection for the online archive cornishmemory.com.

Since 2014 CAST has been tracing the history of the 3 Penrose Road building as a school through a project entitled Green School Revisited. In the last phase of its life, the school was known as the ‘Green School’ because of the green and grey uniforms worn by its pupils.

This year, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Sharing Heritage scheme, CAST began a collaboration with the oral history company Azook, an organisation based in Redruth that works to connect people to their cultural heritage.
