Since 2014 CAST has been tracing the history of the 3 Penrose Road building as a school. In the last phase of its life, the school was known as the ‘Green School’ because of the green and grey uniforms worn by its pupils. Invitations to former teachers and pupils to attend gatherings in 2014 led to a project with Parc Eglos Primary School that culminated  in a cross-generational ‘tea treat’ in July 2015, hosted by Year 3 pupils at Parc Eglos for former ‘Green School’ staff and students.

In March 2016 CAST embarked on a project entitled ‘Green School Revisited’ working with the oral history company Azook to record interviews and gather images for a Helston County Secondary School collection with the online archive cornishmemory.com. The project was supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Sharing Heritage scheme, with Feast, Helston Town Council and Cornwall Councillor Community Chest contributions.
