The Cornubian Arts & Science Trust (CAST) is an educational charity. It was established in 2012 and has developed out of a series of contemporary art events organised in Cornwall since 2010. CAST aims to promote participation, appreciation and learning in the visual arts and to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration across the arts and sciences. It is committed to the pursuit of excellence. CAST is dedicated to enriching cultural life in Cornwall and the South West and encouraging national and international connection and exchange. CAST’s activities receive support from a wide range of local, regional, national and international organisations and funding bodies.

In 2023 CAST was awarded £705,374 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The award was made by Cornwall Council which has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The funding will support ‘Phase two’ of the renovation of CAST’s fine Victorian building, it also contributes to CAST’s programme by funding most of our learning programmes, and some public programming, from March 2023 to March 2025.
