Data is all around us. Exploring data, finding patterns in it, and visualising the stories hidden in data is a huge growth industry. Digital skills for working with data, and applying exciting ideas from artificial intelligence, are valuable and in demand.

Led by Tariq Rashid, this free workshop is part of a tour across Cornwall giving children aged 7 to 17 a taste of data science through simple but exciting data projects.

Tariq Rashid has a degree in physics from the University of Cambridge and a Masters in Machine Learning and Data Mining from Bristol University. He has worked in technology for 20 years and runs technology and education focussed communities, including the Algorithmic Art group, Data Science Cornwall and the popular CoderDojo Cornwall.

The workshop lasts two hours and is free, children should be accompanied by an adult. Find out more and book a place here.

The public programme at CAST is currently supported from funds awarded by Arts Council England for the Groundwork programme.
