Ben Rivers will introduce a programme entitled Edgelands at Falmouth University’s Woodlane Lecture Theatre. His selection draws on his interest in the physical and conceptual borders of society, from the neglected peripheries of the city to the withdrawal of individuals from mainstream culture.

Edgelands was initially conceived to accompany Rivers’s recent solo exhibition Earth Needs More Magicians and his artist-curated exhibition Edgelands at Camden Arts Centre. It includes rarely exhibited films by Robert Smithson and Nancy Holt, Andrew Kötting, Phil Solomon, Ken Jacobs, Helen Levitt, Gordon Matta-Clark and Rivers himself.

The screening is presented at Falmouth University as part of the public programme for The Cornwall Workshop 2016. It will be introduced by Ben Rivers and will be followed by a Q&A.

Admission is free but booking is required via Eventbrite.

CAST’s public programme for 2015/16 is supported by Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts, using funds from the National Lottery.
