A group of Associate artists from Open School East in London came to Helston in October to undertake a residency. Henry Babbage, Louis Horton-Stephens, Alex Ressel and Theo Shields visited for a week at the end of October. During their stay they visited Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and Goonhilly Earth Station, both important sites in the history of international telecommunications.

This is the third year in succession that artists from Open School East have undertaken a residency at CAST. Open School East was founded in 2013 in response to spiralling tuition fees and student debt, and the decrease in both studio provision and civic spaces in the capital. It was initiated as a space for artistic learning and production that is experimental, versatile and highly collaborative.
